This sentence doesn't make sense.

No, it makes perfect sense. But maybe you'll understand it more broken down in to two sentances.

It was a run on sentence....it made little sense as it was written.

With the exception of your comment on the Cash for Clunkers program, very little of what you say above makes sense.

The cash for clunkers program increases the cost for cars for the poor.

Do you have proof of that statement? After all, the number of cars taken off the road under the C for C program is miniscule compared to the number of used cars in this country.

Health Care "reform", forces them to buy insurance, and not just catastrophic insurance, there are lots of requirements for coverage. This increases costs for the poor as well. Yes their are subsidies for those who don't make a lot of money, but the cost is still increased for many young, healthy, poor, people.

Its the "young healthy people" who are going into debt the most because of unexpected health issues or because of unexpected pregnancy. Many want health coverage but can't afford it under the current system.

Farm price supports increase food prices, this has more impact on the poor than on other people.

I agree with you on this one.

Business taxes, high taxes on skilled workers, increasing investment taxes, all hurt the economy and thus make it harder for the poor to get a decent job.

Not necessarily....if those taxes are used to improve the quality of life, then there is an overall benefit. It has been shown over and over again that industry is as concerned with quality of life issues as it is with taxes.
