Ted, > Do you know the difference between a pandemic and the regular flu? So far we have dodged a bullet assuming H1N1 doesn't mutate into something more ugly.

The bottom line is that the H1N1 scare was just that, a scare.

I see....the medical community, Obama, the CDC et all are to be faulted for not being clairvoyant. Boy, how your expectations have risen since 2008.

It could have mutated into something worse, but big deal. The influenza virus mutates all the time. It's Biology 101. We've always been vulnerable. Nothing new there.

Here we go again......someone's keeping you out of the loop again. The regular flu mutates evey year.....the mutation is relatively minor and avian derived. H1N1 is a major mutation......its related to the pandemic of 1920 that killed over 100 million worldwide and brought under one roof, avian, human and pig flues.......a first I believe.

So now we have two flues circulating at the same time and H1N1 has the potential to mutate into something much worse than it currently is.

The fear was legitimate.....the precautions necessary....and the Obama administration did an admirable job considering this was their first year on the job.
