I am aware of all that you say. Still think we are long overdue to examine our milmitary commitments. As to the deflationary spiral, I am not so sure. The problem with all analsis of the economy is that the analyzer sees things as they are not as they could be. Years ago there was a newsletter called the "Holt Ad visory". He esnpoused the same theory but it did not happen until 40 years later. He was unable to account for the changes that the fed and smonetery authorities implemented to forestall things. Suppose the government just abolishes the fed, prints up something called "debt redemption certificates" issues them to debtors and pays off everyone's debt. That would dramatically change the analysis and tilt things toward inflation. Alternatively, the government could issue non debt money in the amount of 1 million each to each american, which would likewise change things dramatically. If you believe that can't happen, you do not understand the will of pols to remain in power. lj
