Frankly, nobody had conceived of it yet. While Bush, on 9/11, instantly knew we were "at war", there was no infrastructure in place for treating these people as enemy combatants in December, 2001. The order authorizing treatment as enemy combatants was less than a month old at the time, and there simply wasn't any precedent for handling it in this manner. There is little doubt that had it happened six months later, it would have been handled differently.

Trying them in a court of law where the evidence is stacked against them is not treating them like they are a friend.

It isn't even the point. This guy will be convicted either way. The point is that you can't properly interrogate him when he's hiding behind his attorney.

He knows who else was present when he was being trained and if we knew who those people were we would stand a far better chance of capturing or killing them. By allowing this individual to lawyer up American lives have been put at stake. If there is another attack, one that is successful, it is on Obama's hands, and while I want the bastard to go, having the president be responsible for such a result would be a national tragedy.

This is all way over your head. You're an idiot. Take it somewhere else before you get PTSD.
