Thread Question: I'm on my computer constantly during market hours and it runs fine. Typically, I leave it idling for a few hours until evening. Lately, almost every evening when I get back on, it runs so slow as to be almost frozen. This is especially the case for any on-line work.

The hard drive also spins/hums at a much higher frequency when this is happening.

I run have a Dell Optiplex 745. I run Firefox exclusively. I have Symantec Antivirus and have run manual scans that have turned up no viruses.

Rebooting helps but not every time. This has gone on for about three weeks.

Any ideas?
