the wins vs. Capitals & Sharks are the two most impressive wins for the Kings this season….
I expected we’d get trounced in at least one of these, but very tight D in both games & taking advantage of SJ’s suddenly porous D was way beyond expectations…
shutting down Caps high-scoring O was the biggest surprise, or was it the 6-0 outburst at The Tank[ed]?
I voted [the Great God] Zeus as the toughest King to play against at the beginning of this season, and he has fulfilled that role more and more as the season progresses….
his positioning is often the key….if you watch Michal during a game you will note that he is almost ALWAYS in the right place at the right time, both on offense and on defense….he is also very hard to move once he establishes position, as he uses his size very well…
Wayne Simmonds and Sean O’Donnell continue to lead in the plus/minus column….THESE are our unsung heroes…
the much ballyhooed Jack Johnson continues as the UNhero at -13 …. yes, he has loads of potential and I firmly believe he will establish himself as a standout, if not a superstar, with two or three more years experience, but for now….a liability in tough situations…
Kings are now on-pace to score 101 points, which I projected they would, BUT…actually, with their favorable home schedule, it would be disappointing if they don’t finish with MORE than 101 points…
take a look at our schedule through February and you will see what I mean….barring a major letdown we should definitely [not only] make the playoffs, but move up several places from our current position….
