I have re-structured the PF with an eye towards doing less with it this year but making more. Was too conservative last year [90% cash at the end of the year], and thus did not do as well as I should have though I did sleep well.vbg. I want to be a bit of an insomniac this year.

The animal spirits which animated the New Year have so far been kind to me though of course it is early. A good sign to be already up 2.8%. I of course realize that figure will ebb and flow.

Leading the charge with a majority of the allocation are PMs, via IAU, GDX, GDXJ, NGD and HL. Then a smaller allocation between agriculture via DBA and oil via USO. A bit of NLY for yield. Have some exposure to BRICs now. Finally, lots of cash, 30+%.

Got rid of Swissie. Not a bad play, but too staid.

Bought a smidgen of QCOM as 2010 looks to be its year. Plus, its incredible cash hoard will grow and grow and grow. It appears to have beaten back all challenges to its business model. Unless its management finds a way to waste its cash, which it has shown it can do, QCOM wil becoome not only a technological powerhouse but a financial one, too.

Will fool around less. These allocations are a result of careful deliberation and are unlikely to be changed until mid year review.
