hi Colin,

Thanks for posting the regulation. The reg. does not seem to support what Schwab wrote to me. That is why I am curious if a Rev. Proc. may have been issued recently . Maybe I am reading too much into Schwab's comment, but I interpreted that not having to having the broker put anything on a confirmation was something new. Can you easily run a search on a tax research service and see if something new comes up. If nothing new shows up,I will write Schwab and ask them what they are basing their comment on.
