It is more likely that all or most of Ashkenazi Jews are of Khazaria origin and have little if anything to do with those delivered by Moses. Go ahead and look it up. There is this persistent rumor going around that Jews are a race. To date no evidence of strong racial link across the entire Jewish population has been found. Ashkenazi Jews (to state the obvious) have greater genetic links to Khazaria and Eastern/Central Europe than to Mizrahi Jews. A while back I posted posted the analysis by a respectable scientist who who showed that the so called "Cohen" dna simply indicated being of middle eastern origin and that it was more widely present in the general population of the ME than in the general Jewish population. Unfortunately I can't find that post. But given that it was posted to Nadine, you can be sure that if there was a good answer, she would have raised it ;) This throws the whole land grant from God argument out of the window...at least as it relates to the majority of Israeli Jews.
