The preists (sic) inference was that this fact is denied by those he is dissing (everyone not under his authority).

First of all he is not a Priest. The priesthood was for the Old Testament. If you want to read about why there are no Priests in the New Testament you can reference The Book Of Hebrews. Chapters 7-10

Secondly you have taken a statement out of context. Here is what he bases his comment on:

in Eastern thought all actions are just part of the world of illusion; and so true and false, good and evil--these two--are categories that fade away when you become one with the one. And so Eastern thought cannot provide the basis for a stable, moral universe. And if your system of thought can’t do that, it cannot survive reality.

This statement is completely accurate. There is zero misrepresentation in it! He then goes on to point out that humans can't live that way because the innate knowledge and ability to distinguish between good and evil is an observable fact of human existence. We would have gotten around to discussing this very point ourselves if you had been open enough to share your views. All I can say is; I tried.

"Oh my. This must be why they call you Pope Greg."

If you would like to degrade the discussion to that level it is a clear indication that you have run out of cogent meaningful argumentation. Has it it come to that so soon? Christian orthodoxy surrounding these issues we are discussing was established through years and years of thoughtful discussion literally centuries ago.

"There was a great deal more in the quotes, you ignored it. Ask me why I'm not surprised."

I do not have the space or time to deal with a virtual bombardment of one line, out of context quotes. But I am happy to deal with them one at a time if you so wish.

<<<have you read the first chapter of Paul's letter to the Romans?>>>

"Yes."

Can you summarize the central complaint that God has against Man in that passage? (It's not hard)
