<in Eastern thought all actions are just part of the world of illusion; and so true and false, good and evil--these two--are categories that fade away when you become one with the one. And so Eastern thought cannot provide the basis for a stable, moral universe. And if your system of thought can’t do that, it cannot survive reality.>
<<This statement is completely accurate.>>
This one statement (section) could provide ample subject for multiple theological thesis. The idea that this "priest" knows what "becoming one with the one" means seemingly implies he knows the mind of God, on one level... and AT LEAST has been in that state or position. The futher implications are giant leaps of (his, I guess?) faith. He implies HE KNOWS what provides for a "stable, moral, universe"!! Again, implying he knows the mind of God!
Blasphemy, even in religious circles... at best.
You seem to dig up lot's of bigotry.
< He then goes on to point out that humans can't live that way because the innate knowledge and ability to distinguish between good and evil is an observable fact of human existence.>
Ummmm,so when you become one with God you lose the ability to distinguish good from evil... yea. You know what Greg, I hate to break the news, but this guy hasn't read ANYTHING by St. Francis or others of his ilk... none of the other mystical Christian writings, nothing.
