What you might want to do is zero the hard drive and then reformat it. I was having trouble with my back up drive so I backed it up to another drive and used Hiren's BootCD to zero it and then reformatted it and copied everything over again and so far it's working fine. Why it was having problems I don't know but I figured I'd take a chance but if you are having bad sector problems making an image and restoring that image will probably not solve your problem.

Just my two cents.
