Benefits of Duo View

If any of you ever did any road presentations using a portable computer and an LCD projector, you know how screwed up the whole process is.

Half the time, you hope the mish mash system you have going doesn't die in the middle of the presentation, or your order doesn't get messed up or there are no questions that make you try to do an "out of order" file reference.

Its really hard to try to access some information out of order.

this is why duo view is so great, because you can FIND the file, and Get the file using your original laptop screen, then display it through your 2nd connection to the LCD projector.

IMO NEC and Toshiba are really smart (rilly!) by incorporating MX into their designs. It fits the needs for onsultants/ salespeople/ roadshows almost perfectly.

Trio3D is pretty neat product. you can see that 25-35% of all PC's will be <$1000 units. but the $22/10,000 price is BS. More like $15 with a 10% reduction per quarter. S3 has a majority of this market (my estimate around 65%-70%) because if its relationship with Taiwan board manufacturers. so guesstimating...(0.35*110 million computers *$12 avg 12 mo. selling price * 0.70 market share = $323 million) this is obviously a high end estimate. cut it in half to be realistic/pessimistic.

Note, $12 is WAAAayyy above the current selling price of Trio. You can buy a Trio board for about $29-39 right now i'd guess they are selling around $5-7. (See $120mm Q3 revenue, and 12 mm estimated unit sales = $10 average selling price, including the MX/GX/DX products)

obviously a product transition phase for S3 and board manufacturers.

Lots of low end boxes filled with S3 boards.
so, this is S3's assurance it will not die next year. it might bleed cash, lose money, etc. but it won't die.
