There is another problem with Islam. Each Imam can interpret the Quran however they chose and there is no authority, or public criticism to offset it. Christianity and Judaism, for example, have ways for deviant interpretations to be declared as apostacy and thereby generally identified as non-authoritative. So, when an Islamic cleric declares a Jihad against someone there is no way to counter his statement and it is considered authoritative by his followers.

Unfortunately, Mohammad himself was a believer of evangelism by the sword. So, one has to put Islam in a different category from Christianity and Judaism.
