With Bush, I'm on the fence. Most of the time, I think he actually believed all of this mess. But with Cheney, I don't think that guy is lilly white. Not for one second. That man is smart as hell and he knew exactly what he was doing, right along with Wolfowitz. Those guys wanted oil and they would do anything to get it.

With Bush, his whole life was one that revolved around oil money. So I would say it was only natural for him to think the way he did. When he looked at terrorism and oil and Iraq, his whole frame of mind from his whole life experience, predisposed him to want to go to war with Iraq. Was it illegal? No. Did he lie knowingly? Maybe not all of the time, but I guarantee you he lied knowingly some of the time and maybe even at crucial moments after he knew he was already committed. What's more is once Bush committed to something, it was his way or the highway. He brooked no dissension.
