Debra,

There are potentially four reasons for the announcement on the internet:
1. Someone posted something positive that was false
2. Someone posted something negative that was false
3. Someone posted something true that shouldn't have been released
4. They were tired of getting calls on "I saw a post is it true?"
or "he said", "she said" which one is true?

Now how could they respond?
1. Start posting on SI and MF and probably tie up a person full time.
2. Tell the sites to only post truth..... (scratch that idea)
3. Try a press release...

Bottom line, there wasn't enough info as to which of the four reasons (and there could be multiple reasons) motivated Amati ... "Try a press release" was the most reasonable approach. Regarding timing.....If your going to do a press release you have to do it sometime.

Or in other words, I would suggest to forget about it....and sleep well.
