OK. So serious question for you. If this article is true, then it will most certainly impact Medicare recipients. This recommendation panels may decide certain treatments or tests won't be covered because of cost.

But what about folks who have private insurance? I don't use Medicare and even when I get old enough to have Medicare, I will be able to afford supplemental insurance. This article doesn't address that. It sounds like I nor anyone else who has private insurance instead of or in addition to Medicare will be impacted by this bill. In addition, those who don't have insurance now aren't going to be worse off medically speaking, because they wouldn't have gotten any care, but at least now they'll get Medicare, even if it is restricted by panels.

Is my take on this wrong? I'd really like to understand the impacts to me and my family.
