We all know that Americans aren't peace loving. We are a very war-like nation. From the moment we violently took this land from the Native Americans, we've been at war almost every decade of our existence as a country. The only problem is that we can no longer afford it with $12 trillion in debt.
See....this is where you confuse me. I know you have a good brain and think about what's happening. You know that Muslims can be violent but so can Americans. I am assuming you know there is a connection between those two facts. That Americans stuck their nose in the ME and interfered where it was in our best interests......especially with Israel. That interference has at a minimum caused considerable Muslim misery and even death. It has engendered a great deal of Muslim animosity towards the US. So, as with any 'war', its safe to conclude that there are two sides....each of which to some degree is responsible for that 'war'.
Now Muslims can't take on the US......their leaders know that. They can't even take on Israel. So they resort to terrorism....just as the Zionists did when they were trying to gain control of Israel. Its the lesser opponent's 'war'. Its their only alternative.....and its why even the Saudi princes contribute to the cause.
Now you like the fact that Rs are big on defense and security. And yet, if you look at US history, starting with WW II, more wars have been started by Dems than Rs. In fact, FDR could not get the Rs to go along with entering the last 'great' war until Pearl Harbor happened. As for US defense spending, both sides of the aisle give high priority to spending on defense.....in fact, the US spends so much on defense we have the biggest military/industrial complex in the world which insures we continue to spend a great deal of money on defense.....more than the rest of the world......and it also encourages us to start as many wars as possible so that complex remains wonderfully prosperous and employs many thousands of Americans.
In other words, its well known throughout the world that the US is a well oiled war machine.....and its hurting us....the average American joe....in many ways. If you want, I can least the ways...but, clearly, one of them is this war on terror we are facing. Past US behavior has led us to this mess.
So then, here is my confusion when it comes to you......why would you want to encourage this kind of behavior by voting for people who actively encourage this kind of agenda? Why do we want to keep doing that which angers more and more people of the world and causes us to get deeper in deeper in debt in order to continue funding this war machine? Just curious. |
