We (GTE) put 1,000 Microsoft employees on ADSL trials in WA. The trial is over and no one will give up their ADSL. Now we are adding another 1,000 Microsoft users. Where are the Cable Modems???

Scott, that's great your company is working on ADSL. I'm not sure I understand your question about Cable modems. Cable is currently available in many areas and at attractive prices. I previously mentioned in a post that ADSL will make a larger impact in companies because are wired with copper and not cable. Cable is currently quite a bit ahead of DSL and this is common knowledge. The US West news was positive news for DSL in their region, and PacBell is gearing up but one of the biggest problems for DSL will be keeping it at an attractive price. US West will be pricing it cheaper than their ISDN service so this is a move in the right direction.

Scott, could you provide some information on where your company is deploying DSL? I'm aware that Washington state is US West territory.
They plan on offering DSL there next year, how will you compete with them since they "own" the copper going into homes?

Regards,
Derek
