If one gets fired, they are ineligble for unemployment benefits (at least in this state).

The employer has to prove willful misconduct. Not so easy. Its usually someone's word against the employee and the bureaucrats are skewed toward the fired worker.

Three states, PA, NJ, and AK, take money directly out out employees paychecks to pay into the unemployment fund. I live in one of these states, so this is NOT welfare!

That's a drop in the bucket. The federal taxes, state taxes and business taxes pay for unemployment. Why do you think businesses fight it when they can?

Unemployment extension benefits were the only part of the stimulus I agreed with.

You've been educated to agree with it.
