When you profile these people, how they "look" isn't the sole criterion, and perhaps not even an important one. You look at more relevant criteria -- like their religious history, where they're coming from, going to, do they appear to be "typical" travelers (going to Detroit in the dead of Winter without a coat might have been a tipoff to someone paying attention; not that an asleep-at-the-switch government employee would pick it up, and certainly not once they're unionized). All that you suggest is not profiling. Its using good common sense. And you might even let a programmer set up a website, which would take a few hours, so that one can do a google search on the guy's name before allowing him to board. The current list is unyieldy. It needs to be modified in order to be more useful. We're talking about common sense. Exactly.
