One of the things I always loved about Swedish is how colloquial it is. I could construct a sentence and say something, then the swede I was talking to would give me a little smile and say, "What you just said does mean what you wanted it to mean, but we don't say it that way." Like I'd say, "I really made a big mess," and they'd tell me that instead it should be, "Now I have shit in the bilge pump."

Thanks for the tips on how to say Elroy does all the work. I do see how your versions are better.

But on reflection, I think we should name the thread "Älgen Är Lös." Because it most certainly is.
