Yes mm, some pinheads have started to bring this moronic issue on this thread. I bet they would still continue to raise this issue even if the Detroit plane bomber succeeded in blowing up the plane. To such folks, they would rather not have a Black man occupy the White House whether this country exists or not. This Harry Reid issue is another straw that the GOP is trying to hang on to. But to their surprise and frustration, his remarks are not considered offensive by the community that these were directed towards. They know well that if their interest such as social upliftment etc. are being served by folks by Reid etc. they will cut him some slack. But folks like Trent Lott and gang who have harbored a soft spot for KKK will be pounced on when they try to fan the flames. And the GOP chairman needs to realize that he is being used by the clans folks who are hiding in the GOP. Unlike Steele, Ward Connerly is a respected African American even though he is a member of the GOP. And this is his interesting take on Reid's remarks. online.wsj.com
