Re: "Underestimating Israel is a grave mistake..."

Wasn't.

That was the Pentagon's conclusion.... (You probably shouldn't listen to the FOX commentators quite so much. <g>)

(Too much of Iran's program is dug deep into hundreds of deep tunnels in their mountains, including many decoys, specific blast-resistant designs, etc. According to the recent WSJ article Iran has one of the world's largest collections of hard rock mining equipment anywhere... partly because their country is so mountainous and they build so many highway tunnels... and partly because of this nuclear program, which is dug-in deeper then a tick on a blue tick hound.)

Was not a 'slam' on Israel... simply a realistic assessment of their military capabilities contrasted with the military challenge.

NOTE: even the US (short of using nuclear weaponry) does not *currently* have what we feel we would need in our armory for efficiently completing such a task --- which is *exactly* the reason that we are RUSHING DEPLOYMENT of a new, and massive, 'bunker-busting' deep earth penetrator bomb (which is to be deployed on B2 bombers).

The new bomb is supposed to be deployed this Spring, (I believe).

PS --- Russia and China are the only other two nations that I am aware of that are working on similar weapons....
