The tricky part if the facemask had been called would have been pre- or post-possession, since Rogers was pulled down by his face as the ball was being stripped. The replay official would have had to decide when the defender got a grip on the facemask compared to when the ball left Rodgers' grasp.

But reading the NFL rule strictly, it didn't rise to a facemask penalty. Isn't there a general illegal hands to the face foul? Never sure since running backs seem to be allowed to stiff arm defenders up their nostrils if they like.
