Apparently, you don't comprehend that oil is a commodity. The idea was never to "profit" from the oil (remember, "no blood for oil" and all that? Turns out, it was never about that). But a world oil market that is as stable as possible is a national security interest for the US, so oil was one of many legitimate reasons for us to have removed Saddam.

To the contrary, if Obama doesn't blow it it will have been an absolute success. Democracy in Iraq. Potentially democracy in Iran. One of the MAJOR REASONS bin Laden gave in the '98 FATWA is now GONE (sanctions against Saddam).

I don't know whether you're uninformed or just ideologically committed to ABB (or both). But you're demonstrably wrong in every point you made.
