Greenspan DID have a big hand in causing the problem. He was always saying, "Deregulate, deregulate, deregulate, the Bankers will be HONEST." During the Clinton Administration he was telling Clinton that deficits were TOO high and Clinton needed to raise taxes, but when Bush got in he seemed to have NO objection to cutting taxes. He was RIGHT THERE when all these LIAR LOANS started coming out but I don't remember him making any BIG speeches about the possible consequences.
