Precisely. Few people realise how deeply our present system is molded by government demands and regulations.

So... you can say this is truly <an attempt> at reform of government regulation. Like the details, or not.

I think the original idea of the reform was to go more or less fully socialized. This didn't work out. Gradually, it drifted into becoming a fight to pass ANYTHING... in order to avoid looking like a political failure.

Can't argue with that. But if you look at some of the pieces... some are pretty good. The whole? I'm not sure.

Hopefully some of the bad parts can be thrown off... and some of the good parts strengthened. Maybe some of the "unintended consequences" will actually be good; it happens.

I'm not at all sure it's going to pass.
