In my previous post I recommended to buy the RON (Romanian Leu) and sell the USD since the RON appreciated from 4.16 to around 4.11.

Further on the similar assumptions/calculation and anticipated slow rise in commodity prices I bought the RUB (Russian Rubble) which will benefit from the recent push of Russia into the Far East and China energy markets and increase their pricing power of NG and crude oil.

Russia is balancing their budget around $70 per barrel prices above that generate surpluses which will improve the government finances and start new expansion at home and abroad.

Hopefully Putin learned his lesson and understand that it is easier to make $$$ in peace times than starting a war or unrest in the region.

All in all it is a risky investment, but could be quite profitable similar to the BRL (Brazilian Real) last year
