Why wasn't there someone there to help her? Falling once is bad enough, but twice? Does she have regular insurance or Medicare and a supplement? I'm wondering how much what she has costs versus Medicare and a supplement....Maybe when you have time, you can talk to the social worker and the billing supv to get some info on what we all are going to have to deal with..now and in the future.

But that aside, the most important thing is, how is she getting along? Is the pain under control? I'm so very sorry you both are having to go through this...would a get well card or something like that help her?

I know that the best magazine to 'read' isn't something serious... the most I could concentrate on was that US magazine...pictures and a few words of people who don't matter much...People magazine is at the high end of the attention span for awhile, so you can know how the pain pills numb your brain....A few pretty flowers is a visual treat too...I've always thought that a few flowers in the hospital were much better than a whole big bunch....they die too quickly because of the heat, so it's nice to just enjoy the few... One of the most wonderful gifts is a body lotion in a scent that she enjoys...We women always want to look better outside, even though we feel like h*ll on the inside....

Sending you both lots of warm thoughts!
