One isn't 'enslaved' when one begs for it, signs up for it, lives off it.

People with my income who live a vastly more lavish life style have shot themselves in the head, financially.

I have a beef with dirty tricks -- changing credit card rates retroactively, universal default, that sort of thing.

But I have no sympathy for a person who racks up debt believing in the tooth fairy bringing them a free lunch of entitlement sandwiches.

There are drug dealers everywhere in my city, yet I somehow manage not to get addicted.

Banks are everywhere, too, and in cyberspace, but somehow I have minimal debt and actually have savings. I would have savings at 1/4 my income, too. It's just me. And for many, it's just THEM.

Like you said, "Society today is stupid." Remember who you are talking about before you blame the banks for everything.
