Hi Crossy! Just so you don't misunderstand me, let me tell you some of the things I have said on this thread: Occams razor is sufficient to show that the existence of a "gospel" Jesus is akin to winning a lottery. Both testaments are primitive, absurd, contradictory, nonsensical and outside of history. They are transparent as primitive thought whether it be demons or the cure for leprosy or infidelity or the "flood" or "righteous" Lot (who impregnated both his daughters and offered them to a gang rape) or Samuel catching a thousand foxes and tying their tails or Jonah or the genocides of Joshua or all the terrible rapes approved by God and his people...or... Groups or sects who modify the original Christianity/Judaism/Zoroastrianism/Mithraism/etc. still retain the basic myth stories (Gilgamesh, etc.). Whenever cultures have contact, beliefs and myths are incorporated and shared and integrated. Even North American Indian tribes changed their religious scripture as other tribal captures, etc. were able to modify their dogmas. NOTHING supernatural is based on anything other than imagination and who is wielding the power--be it shaman or priest or misfit or Hitler. Spinoza is the closest I can come to the awe I feel for this universe. Rand is the closet I come to the passion I feel for this life (and I have no interest in discussing her human failings). We survive each day on the mass slaughter of life. The blood flows everywhere except where some animals hide in the woods. Are they living again. I don't think so! Where do we draw the line as who will live again!?? Wherever you want, I guess! Spirit comes from "breath". The ancients saw air as "spirit" ergo "soul". No breath--NO LIFE! Air exists. There is no evidence for "Spirit". If you find someone who can live without a body or a brain please put him/her on this thread! It only takes ONE instance to prove--but in 5 billion years we have not had even ONE instance!! Does anyone really think they are more important than their dog, their cat--or going smaller...all the creatures that fight to survive but are stepped on, squashed, and (going smaller) killed by antiseptics...
