True NGOs could fly-in water bottles.
They have no capability to move the stuff off the runway much less inland. If they did bring trucks and could travel the roads, they have no capability to refuel.

The Army and Navy have water purification and pumping capabilities at the level needed, but not overnight. Both also have fuel tankers for refueling their own vehicles. But this is not New Orleans. All the big stuff has to be loaded on ships to get there.

I trained my kids to maintain an at home capability to purify water for their families for at least 60 days. How is in the book.

Americans always respond. I know three local NC DRs who flew to Miami yesterday afternoon to catch a military hop to Haiti. They were coordinating medicines and equipment all morning.
