Very true. After reading plenty, I have come to the conclusion that oil is at the root of many of this countries foreign policy problems and every couple of decades when oil prices get out of control, they become the root of our economic problems. Then lastly, oil and coal are the reason for our climate problems So yes, becoming oil independent for national security, economic security, and climate security reasons, seems to me to be a no brainer. It's a trifecta.
