More magical thinking.

" energy independence and climate responsibility is not mutually exclusive" Energy independence and radical environmentalism IS in conflict. On other threads, you make common cause with people opposed to nuclear, natural gas, oil, coal .... everything but solar, wind and hydro built a generation ago.

I refer you again to the End of Magical Climate Thinking article.

We're already marching through the tipping point for renewable energy. Within the next 5 years, almost every major car company will have a hybrid, plug-in, and/or electric car on the road. Solar-thermal and wind power plants have already reached coal-fired plant cost parity.

None of the above is true except for the part about car companies having electrical powered vehicles on the road - with governments demanding it, they'll build them. Though they won't really be successful in a big way in our lifetimes. Ironically, the decisions made by Obama and Congressional Democrats will push this back in time.

Large utilities like Duke Energy are already making the switch from coal to natural gas. New nuclear designs are making nuclear power cheaper and safer than ever before.

True but not relevant to the rest.
