That would be a good solution but there is no wood. Have you seen the satellite photos where all the trees along the border with the DR are gone. On one side you have the forests of the DR and on the Haiti side, bare mts. The wood for the hexayurt most likely would have to be imported from the US....that would drive up the cost of it considerably.

Given the mild climate, I think they may have to set up large communal tents where people will live for the next year. Its gross but I don't see any other way.
