This whole issue of peak oil is nuts. If markets are allowed to function and things are not screwed up by wise butt politicians picking winners and ordaining losers energy use patterns will simply shift and all will be well. If we want to discourage oil - simply tax it like the Europeans. Do not try to pick other winners. Get the government the heck out of determining the future. Bob
