No, the killer is that we have to foot the bill to station the 5th carrier fleet in a small section of the world that would be otherwise struggling to make it to the industrial age.

If you factor that in, and all the heartbreak, blood, and treasure we've spent over the past 40 years trying to keep the goey stuff flowing, I think shale economics look pretty damn good.
