"Your missing the point"

That would be "You are", or "You're".

"There is evidence for the Big Bang and it is a reasonable to deduce from that evidence that the universe has a cause that is outside of itself"

We don't know anything about where the universe fits into any before/after, changed/unchanged paradigms. In our particular thought patterns and perceptual peculiarities we have constructed a scientific world view that complements our particular ideas of reason. Intelligent people do not pretend that this world view is "Truth"--or even that "Truth" is ultimately a valid concept. But I tell you this only to be thorough. The question under consideration is whether or not there is "one iota of evidence" for the existence of god. THERE IS NOT. Neither ignorance of the cause of something (why is the sky blue, who hung the lamps in the sky as the primitive savage would say) nor the question of cause or no-cause, points in any evidential way to any "god".

Imagination (who hung the pretty lights in the sky, what powerful entity roars so loudly before sending down huge rains that destroy our crops) and speculation are, of course, natural human attempts to reveal reality (at least insofar as it complements our perceptions and concept formations). However, IMAGINATION and SPECULATION are NOT EVIDENCE. There is NO EVIDENCE that APOLLO chariots the sun around our planet. NONE.

"Did a super duper genius like you, really miss the question"

No. I answered the question fully. The part about "Can you think of any other possibilities, there Mr Skywalker?" did not address me and appeared to be rhetorical as well as sophomoric. The "cause" of the universe has infinite possibilities given the fact that ants in an ant hill are asking the question. Again, whether our tentative answer was yes or no, caused or uncaused--whether the universe is also an ant in an ant hill...none of these questions or answers involve or require any reference to any of the "gods" invented through imagination by the savage and childlike mind when our race was infantile and everything was "caused" by "gods".

"There is a far greater chance that you are the most arrogant liar that has ever lived"

LOL! WOW!! An Einstein amongst the philistines!! I could get a job in the Justice Department!!
