With respect, SB, I think there is a certain "mission drift" here. By the same token you can blame *money*, because money finances ALL wars - as well as many good things. The fact that banks participate in financial transactions related to wars doesn't necessarily mean that they are causing those wars.

Again, I'm not doing this in order to win arguments or for any other gain... I'm simply interested in understanding things. And the image of evil financial geniuses working together on destroying an economy which feed them and makes them rich... does not fit into my reading of the world. They do better during prosperity.

No one is an angel... Remember reading about the old "trusts" of a 100 years ago, which would sell a bull market, and then would start talking down the markets, promote negative news, etc. -- and then would load up into weakness, and start talking the same markets back up again. Still, this is far short of intentionally causing a depression.

All this recent huge money transfer to bankers - from 2008 until now - was terrible, and we'll pay the price for it. It was caused by political ignorance, arrogance and hubris. People think they can apply their stillborn rigid models to complex live processes - and get predictable outcomes. All they can do is mess things up.
