Yes, and imagine how powerful democracy would be if people owned the state instead of being state serfs owned by the state. People would vote for the value of their state to go UP not down.

Countries would become worth many $millions per person instead of having negative value in some instances, with people fleeing for their lives.

People would vote for politicians who add value and fire those who subtract value.

It has never been done, which is the main argument people have against anything new. But cars, airliners, cellphones, combine harvesters, cyberspace, wheel-barrows and spectacles had never been done either. They were all highly successful and once people got used to them, they wonder how they did without.
