LOL. You'd think so from these posts, but actually my mom is one of the sweetest people on earth. However, she is susceptible to the bully pulpit of Evangelical preachers, just like many people who have deep faith. It's very easy to manipulate people who have deep faith, because many are raised to believe what their priest and preacher tells them. Lucky for me, my priests taught me to think for myself and to analyze what others tell me, even if it is your priest. That's the benefit of a good Catholic education for you. We aren't snowed by the Creationists who tell us the earth is only 10,000 years old. Also, for your information, I have a very good relationship with both my parents. We just don't agree on politics. One thing I like about my family is that they always encouraged rationality and common sense over sheep like behavior. So my divergent opinions are tolerated with good grace in my parent's house. Apparently, in your house they would beat you with a stick if you professed any disagreement with the GOP. That must explain your cowering in fear at anyone who dares to step away from the GOP party line.
