Botox, no system will work as long as people care more for themselves than for others. someone has to have power and that someone will always use it for selfish advantage. our founding fathers knew this and tried to set up a government that limited power. selfish people have since figured out how to game the system for personal gain. our failures are moral in nature, not government structure. no socialist government will work as long as people are morally depraved (failing to care about others equal to oneself). jesus predicted this selfishness would lead to more famines, more wars and ultimately the eventual destruction of "all flesh (except fo his supernatural 2nd coming intervention)." he was either very lucky or very good.
