Richard, I do indeed have an old Greyhound, built in 1957 as a matter of fact - Its nothing fancy, but comfortable, and lets me carry around all the stuff I need, so I feel pretty much at home anywhere.
On the 5/9ema crosses. Yes they are quite apt to create whipsaws and when I compared them with DNS, Dahl crosses, they have quite variable returns, sometimes being a good deal better, and more often worse than those systems. 5/9 seems very good for spotting a move up early- from what I gather, it is a tool used by traders. The plus is that it is an early signal. I'd like to find something as good to mark the end of a short term trend. And you may be right -- my time frame could be too short.
Many thanks for Dahl and TSF. Before them I had used Demand Index and %R, which can be adjust to look almost like Dahl. I have looked and looked, Richard, but I cannot find a clear picture from the 16 day time cycle lines. I've tried lenghtening them, etc, but still can't see anything I could rely on. Could you make a few comments?
Thanks,
Bob |
