You have to be careful when comparing apples to oranges in health care expenditures. Socialized medicine has many hidden costs and different countries count things differently. It is not easy to get a valid comparison. So, don't jump to conclusions based on some statistic quoted in some media or some internet site.

Remember what Mark Twain said, "There are three kinds of lies, regular lies, damned lies and statistics."

P.S. I have 20 some hours of graduate statistics and the main thing I learned was to doubt most of them.
