Great article on the dilemma we face with unfettered capitalism.

We don't face such dilemma for the same reason we don't face a dilemma from the an invasion by Orcs from Mordor. Both are fiction. We don't face, and haven't had unfettered capitalism.

As for business being laissez faire, that idea, beyond being something that we haven't had, has more to do with the actions government (or lack thereof since its about government not interfering) than with business. But to the extent that business can be said to be laissez faire, they haven't been. Their corruption, is mostly about being active with government, causing government to give the business special benefits and perks, or to impose extra costs and restrictions on the competition.
