Now you are just showing your own ignorance on the subject.

* Smart grid - this is a critical component of a two-way network that will allow for distributed energy generation and storage. Much like how the Internet works, we need this in order to drive competition and ubiquity of energy sources.
* Low income weatherization - this is a great investment, because it has a good, long term return on investment. Pay money today and save over the long run. And conservation of energy is the single biggest impact thing this country can do.
* State and local renewable energy and energy efficiency efforts - again, it's investment in our infrastructure, no different than building roads and bridges. We need to invest in our renewable energy infrastructure to help diversify away from fossil fuels.
* green job training - can't expect to get to the future unless plenty of Americans are trained on how to get there. This is a necessary component of the renewable energy future. Hell, the oil and gas companies hire really smart people to figure out how to run their business. You think renewable energy can take off if there is no education in the industry? Don't be an idiot.
