Not true. Solar thermal is a fast up and comer. I imagine we'll be seeing alot of continued investment in solar thermal and thin film solar power generation. EVs are rapidly moving downscale. They are expensive today, but when economies of scale hit, the costs will come down rapidly.

I think with you, Brumar, you may be otherwise intelligent, but your extreme bias towards oil and against all renewable energy is leading directly to a failure of the imagination. For you to be right, we'd have to live in a world where there is no technological progress and oil would remain plentiful forever.

However, the facts are that technology is evolving at a breakneck pace in batteries, sweet crude is already past peak, and economies of scale is a fact of cost control. In light of those realities, the prediction that EVs will rapidly rise as the preferred choice over the next 20 years is pretty much a no-brainer. You just can't see it through those oil colored glasses of yours.
