Oh, I see. Yeah, that's where Lieberman and I part ways. As I said before, Lieberman can be very GOP on some issues and very Dem on others. That's what makes him an Independent.

And btw, that's the problem with Independents as a party. Independents are people who have policy opinions on both sides of the aisle, but no two independents or centrists have exactly the same opinions on different issues. So there is no way to get ideological purity enough to generate a successful centrist party, which is probably why it hasn't happened yet.

Hell, think of it this way. You think I'm a loony GOP, who says he's a centrist. i-node and others on this thread think I'm a loony liberal, who says he's a centrist. That more than anything is proof that I am indeed outside the norm for a typical GOP or Dem member, because my opinions are on either sides of the aisle depending on the issue. So guess what, that makes me a centrist or at the very least an Independent.
