THis is what happened to the Republicans in 2006 and 2008. Scott Brown campaigned on the fact that he will send the health care bill back to the drawing boards. This indicates that now it will be a bipartisan bill and the negotiation will not be with Bill Nelson only but also with the Dems like the Senator from Maine etc. She wanted a watered down version of the bill with a "trigger clause" in the public option. But the left wingers in the Democratic party wanted it their way and they ignored her as well as Obama.

Now it will be back to the table.
